Product Description:
Glycopyrrolate Injection, 0.2 mg/ml is a sterile, clear, colorless liquid solution for intravenous, intramuscular, or subcutaneous administration. Each ml contains 0.2 mg of glycopyrrolate. It is a synthetic anticholinergic agent that blocks the action of acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors. This injection is widely used in various medical and surgical settings for its potent anticholinergic effects.
Key Uses & Indications:
Preoperative Medication: To reduce salivary, tracheobronchial, and pharyngeal secretions and to decrease the volume and acidity of gastric secretions before surgery. It also helps to prevent bradycardia (slow heart rate) and other vagal-induced arrythmias often associated with anesthetic agents and surgical procedures.
Reversal of Neuromuscular Blockade: Used in conjunction with neostigmine or other anticholinesterase agents to reverse the effects of non-depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents (muscle relaxants) used during surgery. Glycopyrrolate is preferred over atropine in this context as it has a lower potential for causing central nervous system side effects.
Management of Bradycardia: Can be used to treat or prevent drug-induced or vagally-mediated bradycardia.
Control of Excessive Salivation: Used in certain medical conditions to reduce excessive salivation (sialorrhea).
Features & Benefits:
High Purity and Potency: Manufactured under strict quality control standards to ensure a pure and effective product.
Versatile Administration: Can be administered intravenously (IV), intramuscularly (IM), or subcutaneously (SC), offering flexibility in clinical use.
Stable Formulation: Formulated for stability and long shelf life.
Broad Application: Essential medication for anesthesiology, critical care, and general surgery.
Dosage & Administration:
The dosage and route of administration should be determined by a qualified healthcare professional based on the patient's condition, age, and body weight.
Preoperative Use: Typically administered 30-60 minutes before the procedure.
Reversal of Neuromuscular Blockade: Administered concurrently with the anticholinesterase agent.
Storage:
Store at controlled room temperature (15°C to 30°C).
Protect from light and freezing.
Keep out of the reach of children.
